    Instructions

    1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon until well combined.

    2. 2

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of milk, 2 large eggs, 4 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth, then pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix.

    3. 3

Preheat a waffle iron and lightly brush its surface with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, then pour about 0.5 cup of batter per waffle section, cooking for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

    4. 4

While the waffles are cooking, combine 0.5 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a shallow dish, stirring them together thoroughly.

    5. 5

Immediately after removing each waffle from the iron, gently toss and coat both sides of the warm waffle in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

    6. 6

To prepare the spiced chocolate sauce, combine 0.5 cup of dark chocolate chips, 0.25 cup of heavy cream, 1 tablespoon of honey, 0.25 teaspoon of chili powder, and 0.25 teaspoon of cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl, then heat for 30-60 seconds and stir until smooth.

    7. 7

Warm 1 cup of canned dulce de leche in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave for 30 seconds until it is easily pourable.

    8. 8

Serve the warm churro waffles drizzled generously with the spiced chocolate sauce and warm dulce de leche.
