Instructions
- 1
Prepare the jackfruit by thoroughly draining 20 ounces of canned young green jackfruit in brine, rinsing it well under cold water, and then pressing out any excess liquid.
- 2
Carefully cut the large jackfruit pieces into roughly 1-inch thick medallions or chunks, removing any hard core parts.
- 3
In a medium bowl, whisk together 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon of slightly crushed caraway seeds, 1 teaspoon of dried marjoram, 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of salt to create the marinade.
- 4
Add the prepared jackfruit medallions to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing the flavors to penetrate.
- 5
Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Once hot, lightly brush the grates with a small amount of vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
- 6
Carefully place the marinated jackfruit medallions onto the hot grill, ensuring not to overcrowd the cooking surface. Grill for 4-6 minutes per side, until the jackfruit develops distinct grill marks, becomes tender, and is slightly charred around the edges.
- 7
Remove the grilled jackfruit from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve the Grilovaný Jackfruit with fresh dill or parsley as an optional garnish.
