    Instructions

    1. 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.

    2. 2

Add the 2 peeled and sliced plantains and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown, then remove them from the wok and set aside.

    3. 3

In the same wok, add the 4 sliced bratwurst sausages and 1 medium sliced yellow onion, cooking for 5-7 minutes until the onions are softened and the sausage is lightly browned.

    4. 4

Stir in 1 small head of thinly sliced red cabbage and 1 large tart apple cut into wedges, cooking for another 5 minutes until the cabbage starts to wilt.

    5. 5

Add 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds, 1 tablespoon of whole grain mustard, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper to the wok, tossing to combine well.

    6. 6

Return the cooked plantains to the wok and toss everything together gently for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

    7. 7

Serve the Wok-Tossed Bavarian Plantain Skillet immediately, garnished with 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley if desired.
