Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large wok or deep skillet over medium-high heat.

Add 1 large diced onion and sauté for 5 minutes until softened and translucent, stirring frequently.

Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and 1.5 teaspoons of whole caraway seeds, cooking for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Add 500 grams of drained and squeezed sauerkraut and 400 grams of drained and rinsed chickpeas to the wok, tossing to combine the ingredients well.

Pour in 0.5 cup of vegetable broth and season the mixture with 0.5 teaspoon of sweet paprika, along with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Continue to cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has mostly evaporated and the chickpeas and sauerkraut are heated through.
